About the Charity
TCHP is currently working with 60 Honduran children. The children living in Proniño - a children’s home - have been separated from their parents due to abuse, abandonment, neglect or financial crisis within the family. Many of them have experienced numerous traumas in their short lives and TCHP seeks to aid them on their path to becoming healthy individuals and contributing members of society. This is accomplished through bringing together the resources, abilities and passions of individuals, institutions of faith and businesses in both Honduras and the US.
TCHP currently runs two programs in Honduras, as well as kids living on the street. The first is Proniño, a long-term, privately funded home with roughly 40 boys and five girls (ages 8-18) and is located in El Progreso, Honduras. The second program was started by Jilli Schulz called Proyecto Crecer and works with 15 boys and girls from an impoverished community in San Pedro Sula. It is a prevention program that seeks to enable the children to remain with their families while giving them the tools needed to break the cycle of poverty.
A Child from TCHP relaxing in a High Hopes Hammock, High Hopes has donated a hammock to every child at the center to relax and sleep in. They also make monthly monetary donations to help the children with expenses like food, clothes, and education.
